In Honor of
Shakeira Rucker
August 1, 1986 - November 12, 2023
For My Sister Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established by Shakeira Rucker's sisters to honor her life, cut short by a tragic incident related to domestic violence. In memory of Shakeira, a loving mother of four with three minors left behind, our foundation is committed to supporting women seeking refuge from abusive partners.
At For My Sister Foundation, we extend unwavering support and provide secure havens for those impacted by domestic violence. Our mission revolves around fostering healing and resilience, creating a safe space for individuals who have faced the challenges of such traumatic experiences.

For My Sister Foundation was founded by the sisters of Shakeira Rucker who lost her life in December 2023 due to a tragic incident surrounding domestic violence. We are lead by Leonia Thornton, Shakeira's sister.
